The forecast was rain, with possible hail and it was decidedly cold. I guess that was why there were only three of us heading up to Mundaring to hike the Bibbulmun track on the Guildford Outdoors excursion. This is how it started…
We crossed the weir and headed up the track. It began to rain lightly and so after a few minutes we put our rain jackets on. That caused it to stop immediately and we saw no more rain for the rest of the day. The bush was alive after the rain and the flowers are beginning to appear. The hovea’s bright purple and the hibbertia’s bright yellow enlivened the bush.
Morning tea was on a delightful granite outcrop, where we basked like lizards.
We walked to the Hewitt’s Hill campsite where we ate our lunch and enjoyed the company of another walker.
It was a pleasant walk back to Mundaring weir. We felt we’d exercised and rejuvenated our spirits with a few hours in nature. Wish you’d joined us?
