Transition Town Guildford is co-hosting a Living Smart Course with the City of Swan. This award winning course will run on Thursday nights for 7 weeks starting on the 9th May. Time 6:30 pm – 9 pm at the Mechanics Institute, Guildford. Cost only $40 for whole course. Flyer with more info. 20 May- Sunny Side Up – Chook project starts
Transition Town Guildford has been successful in receiving a grant from the Waste Authority to run a series of workshops on keeping chooks. This program is aimed at households who don’t have chooks, but want to get some. Participants will learn everything they need to know about caring for and housing chooks in the back yard, and at the completion of the program will receive 3 chooks. 19 June – Plastic Free July launch

Do you have some old paints or chemicals stacked in the back shed? Now’s your chance to dispose of them appropriately for free! Saturday 4th May, 9 am- 1 pm. City of Swan depot (Cnr Great Northern Hwy & Bishop rd). You don’t have to be a resident. 20 L limit. Flyer here.
5 May: Lockridge Community Garden - National Permaculture Day!
National Permaculture Day is happening all over Australia & internationally on Sunday May 5th - 10:30 – 12. Come along for an interactive day of workshops, food & fun. Entry by donation. Cnr Arbon way & Diana Crescent, Lockridge. Fresh homemade pizzas from the Pizza Oven & sausage sizzle on the day. No RSVP required.
11 May: Worm Farm Workshop
The City of Swan are holding a workshop on worm farms for residents as part of International Compost Awareness week. 2-4 pm
